In the next two weeks, all tobacco vendors in MA will be receiving a postcard from MTCP: What you need to know about tobacco retail sales. There is a QR code on the postcard that  will direct tobacco permit holders to new training videos in both English and Spanish (coming soon).

 

These new training videos designed for merchants address the 2019 state law, An Act Modernizing Tobacco Control.  They are purposely segmented into short videos that can quickly be watched by store personnel, or they can watch the entire series. The videos comply with ADA standards for both the hearing and the visually impaired. These videos were managed by MHOA and were funded by the Department of Public Health, partially through the settlement the Attorney General's Office reached with JUUL Labs, Inc. in 2023, holding the company accountable for its role in fueling the youth vaping epidemic.
